Exploring What’s New (and What’s Next)

Clerkenwell Design Week is always a highlight in our calendar — and having it right on our doorstep makes it all the more special. Each year, we make time to explore the exhibitions, discover new products, and reconnect with others in the design community.

This year offered plenty of inspiration, from material innovations to thoughtful conversations across showrooms. One moment that stood out was a talk at the Solus showroom titled The Power of Photography as an Agent for Change. The speakers explored how storytelling — particularly through imagery — can influence public opinion and even drive political decisions.
It was a strong reminder that the role of design extends beyond form and function. As architects, we often contribute to broader cultural and social narratives, whether we intend to or not. Understanding the creative power we hold helps us design with more intention and impact.
Design-led solutions can be some of the most effective tools for change. That’s what makes events like CDW so valuable — they’re not just about trends, but about staying connected to the ideas and conversations that move our industry forward.
