A Warm Welcome From Reception to Roof
written by Joe
Rich oak joinery runs throughout 14–16 Bruton Place, guiding you from the reception area all the way up to the roof terrace. It acts as a thread that ties the building together — both visually and materially.
Using natural materials like oak in a workplace setting is a powerful way to create warmth and a sense of welcome. At Bruton Place, it’s the joinery that truly defines the character of the space. Among a palette of refined materials, the European oak brings texture, tone, and life to the building.
The oak forms the backbone of the staircase, sits confidently against a minimal backdrop, and helps establish a calm and tactile atmosphere. Its pleated detailing became a key design move — one we used in the reception, across staircases, around the terrace cladding, and even in the bathrooms.
Achieving that level of refinement took close collaboration with the joiners. Their craftsmanship was central to realising the detail and consistency that give this project its distinctive feel.
